We Are Open and Ready to Help During COVID-19

The coronavirus epidemic has been devastating for citizens around the globe as they’ve dealt with lock downs, extreme sickness, and the loss of friends and family. However, for families with loved ones in any of New Jersey’s long-term care facilities, the COVID-19 epidemic has been especially tough.

Hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities are restricting or stopping visitations and tours during the pandemic. How can you possibly decide which place will be best for your loved one if you can’t tour the facility? Or, imagine needing to see your loved one for an emergency estate planning matter, but not being able to get into the facility? In these situations, you need expert legal help.

Our Senior Living Resources team has the skills and resources to assist those who need to transition to a long-term care facility during this challenging time and even after the pandemic has passed.

NJ’s Response to Nursing Home Misconduct

While we remain committed to helping you, New Jersey is asking its citizens for assistance if they’ve seen any signs of nursing home misconduct.

To date, New Jersey’s coronavirus deaths have reached close to 13,000. Approximately 45% of those deaths have been attributed to long-term care facilities, which includes nursing homes and assisted living centers.

That’s why, On April 16, 2020, the Office of the Attorney General of New Jersey opened a statewide investigation. In addition to the high infection and death rates in New Jersey’s long-term care facilities, there were other issues that prompted the launch of the investigation including reports of bodies being mishandled, lack of transparency, and poor communication with families.

How You Can Help
